Rao The 960 – MW Polavaram Hydro Electric Project (PHEP) is poised to emerge as one of the most significant hydroelectric power assets in India, both in terms of scale and technological advancement, with civil construction and electro – mechanical works progressing at a brisk pace. Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) and Siemens Energy are supplying key equipment for the project, which comprises 12 units of 80 Megawatts each and has gathered momentum.
