Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) president Anbumani Ramadoss on Monday (March 30, 2026) announced that his spouse and president of Pasumai Thayagam, an NGO, Sowmiya Anbumani, would contest the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections from the party’s stronghold, the Dharmapuri constituency.

Mr. Anbumani released the full list of candidates for 15 constituncies.

The party’s treasurer M. Thilagabama will face off with actor Vijay and the DMK’s RD Sekar in the Perambur constituency.

In Kattumannarkovil, where VCK president Thol. Thirumavalavan has decided to contest, the PMK has given a ticket to Anbumani Cholan.

In Vridhachalam, Tamilarasi Adhimoolam has been fielded against DMDK general secretary, Premallatha Vijayakant.

Dr. Anbumani’s supporter in Salem, M. Karthi, has been fielded in Salem West constituency. In the party’s stronghold, Pennagaram, the party has given a ticket to Padi V. Selvam, who will likely contest against G.K.M. Tamil Kumaran, son of current MLA and former PMK president, G.K. Mani.

PMK spokesperson K. Balu has once again been given the opportunity to contest in the Assembly elections, but he has been moved from his Jayamkondan constituency to the Thirupporur constituency, which will see a direct fight between the PMK and VCK.

K. Vaithee has instead been fielded in Jayamkondan. Mettur MLA S. Sadasivam will contest from Salem North constituency this time.

In Vikravandi, Sholingar, Mayiladuthurai, and Uthiramerur, Dr. Anbumani has fielded C. Sivakumar – who has been moved from Mailam – K. Saravanan, Sithamalli K. Pazhanichamy, and P. Mahesh Kumar respectively.

In Rishivandhiyam, A.P. Cheziyan will contest.
