Collector Nishant Kumar on Saturday inspected the works taken up under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in Sadum and Somala mandals of Punganur constituency in Annamayya district.

The inspections covered the completion of the 10-km roadworks via Pottemvayipalle and Thimmanayuni Palle in Sadum mandal. He further inspected the works from Kalikiri road to Kanduru stretch up to Nimmanapalle junction in Somala mandal.

Reviewing the progress of the works at Sadum, the Collector said that the efforts were aimed at strengthening rural connectivity and linking villages with towns for economic growth.

The Collector directed the project engineers to complete the remaining works within the stipulated timeframe, strictly adhering to quality standards. He stressed that there should be no compromise in construction quality and that technical norms must be followed at every stage in the public interest.

Later, Mr. Nishant Kumar visited a chrysanthemum cultivation field at Diguva Gollapalle village under Chintaparthi panchayat in Sadum mandal. A farmer, Gangireddy, briefed him on cultivation practices, yield, and marketing of flowers to local markets and nearby towns. The Collector urged the farmers to adopt modern horticulture practices and assured them of necessary technical support through the Horticulture Department to diversify their crops and augment their income.
