PMO posted a message on X on Thursday (March 26, 2026). The Prime Minister termed the incident “deeply distressing” and conveyed his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the accident. Bus-truck collision in Markapuram LIVE Announcing the financial assistance, the Prime Minister stated that an ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh will be provided to the next of kin of each deceased victim, while those injured will receive ₹50,000. The compensation will be disbursed from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF). Authorities are continuing rescue and relief operations, and the injured have been shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment.
