The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on Tuesday ordered notice to the State government on a public interest litigation petition that sought a direction to authorities to ensure that only guest lecturers or part-time lecturers possessing the requisite qualifications were appointed to teach law subjects in arts and science colleges in Tamil Nadu. A Division Bench of Justices G. Jayachandran and K.K. Ramakrishnan ordered notice to the State while hearing the petition filed by T. Muthukrishnan, a part-time lecturer, of Radhapuram taluk in Tirunelveli district.
