Pink tickets and smart cards will be accepted in buses, CM Rekha Gupta said. | Photo Credit: File Photo Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday said free travel for women in public buses using pink tickets will continue for the next three months and urged them not to rush to obtain the newly introduced ‘Pink Saheli’ smart cards. The assurance came after long queues were seen at several centres set up for issuing the cards at offices of District Magistrates and Sub-Divisional Magistrates, and at some premises of the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC). Under the scheme, women commuters can travel free of cost in DTC and cluster buses using pink tickets. The government is in the process of replacing the ticket-based system with Pink National Common Mobility Cards for eligible women residents of the city.
