Pillion rider dies, as two-wheeler driven by boy hits EB post at Tiruchi

A 16-year-old boy, who was travelling as a pillion on a motorcycle driven by his 17-year-old friend, died of injuries when the vehicle rammed into an electric post along the road from Anna Nagar to MGR statue here on Tuesday.

Police sources said the incident occurred around 4.30 p.m. The bike rider rode the vehicle in a rash manner leading to the accident. Both the boys sustained head injuries and taken to a private hospital, where the pillion rider died of injuries. The Traffic South Investigation unit has registered a case.
