MOORTHY A section of members of the Tamil Nadu Association for the Rights of all types of Differently Abled and Caregivers Association (TARATDAC) were arrested in Tiruchi and Pudukottai after they resorted to road roko stirs in support of their demands on Tuesday. The members assembled near the Combined Court complex in Tiruchi where they staged a protest and resorted to a road roko stir for some time demanding hike in monthly financial assistance to the persons with disabilities. They also demanded immediate disbursement of financial assistance to those persons with disabilities who had submitted the applications. Police sources said about 180 members of the association led by its district president Ravichandran were arrested following the stir. About 170 members of the association were arrested in Pudukottai after they staged a road roko stir at the old bus stand, said police sources.
