A citizens’ forum took out a protest march and hunger strike in Thrissur on Saturday demanding justice for Kallur native Rafi Jose, who slipped into a coma following alleged medical negligence during treatment at Daya Hospital in the district. The agitation was organised by the Kallur Citizens’ Forum, which demanded strict action against those responsible, adequate compensation for the family, and a thorough investigation into the alleged treatment error. The protest march began from Peringavu Junction and proceeded towards Daya Hospital. However, the march was stopped by the police in front of the hospital premises. Following the march, a hunger strike was also staged in front of the hospital. The forum said the agitation would continue until justice is ensured.
