Peace rally on Jan. 17 to protest merger of Secunderabad Zone with Malkajgiri: Talasani

Former Minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA Talasani Srinivas Yadav stated that a peace rally would be organised from the Secunderabad Railway Station to the Gandhi statue on the M.G. Road on January 17 to protest the government plan to merge several divisions of Secunderabad Zone of GHMC in the Malkajgiri Zone.

He held a meeting with the leaders of Sanathnagar, Secunderabad and Cantonment Assembly constituencies here on Tuesday on the government proposal. He alleged that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy was lying about disbanding Secunderabad Zone and that Secunderabad would be very much part of GHMC.

Terming the government plans as an attack on the existence, history and heritage of Secunderabad, he said when they had applied for police permission to the January 17 peace rally on January 5 the Commissioner of Police of Hyderabad had replied that they approach CP of Malkajgiri clearly indicating that Secunderabad would not be a part of GHMC.

He stated that several divisions of Secunderabad Zone were included in the Bowenpally Circle of the Malkajgiri Zone and the Chief Minister’s statement was only misleading people.
