Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said the passage of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization (Amendment) Bill, 2026, in the Lok Sabha marked a truly historic and deeply emotional moment for Andhra Pradesh and the recognition of Amaravati as the sole Capital of Andhra Pradesh (Praja Rajadhani) reflected the  people’s aspirations.

In a message on X, Mr. Naidu expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the NDA Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his decision to secure the capital (by amending the AP Reorganisation Act of 2014).

Mr. Naidu also thanked every party and Member of Parliament who supported the Bill, saying that it was heartening to witness unity across party lines in support of Andhra Pradesh and the recognition of the sacrifices made by farmers, and hoped that the Bill would receive support in the Rajya Sabha.

Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan congratulated the people on the occasion of passage of the A.P. Reorganization (Amendment) Bill, 2026, and said it was a defining moment in the history of A.P. The declaration of Amaravati as the sole and permanent capital of A.P. stands as a testament to the people’s will, resilience, and aspirations, he observed.

He conveyed his respects and gratitude to farmers in the Amaravati region for making the unparalleled sacrifice of giving over 33,000 acres of land, and called it an act of faith that will be remembered for generations.

Mr. Kalyan also acknowledged the visionary leadership Mr. Naidu, saying that his unwavering commitment laid the foundation for Amaravati, and expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and the NDA Government for their continued support in turning the people’s dream into reality.

The approval of the AP Reorganization (Amendment) Bill, 2026, instilled renewed confidence among the people as well as among the industrialists and investors, he observed, adding that Amaravati would now stand not just as a capital but as a symbol of hope and collective determination, he added.

IT & HRD Minister Nara Lokesh said that the passage of the AP Reorganization (Amendment) Bill, 2026, gave him immense joy and it was a historic moment. He stated that the A.P. Legislative Assembly previously passed a unanimous resolution designating Amaravati as the Capital and the approval of the above Bill made the five crore people of A.P. extremely happy.

He expressed gratitude to the Central government and the parties which supported the move to give Amaravati the much-needed legal sanctity as the only Capital of A.P. and said it was a ​victory for the people of A.P.

BJP State president P.V.N. Madhav expressed gratitude to the Central government for introducing the Bill in the Lok Sabha to officially declare Amaravati as the capital and called it a crucial milestone in the development of the State.

He noted that the Bill was a permanent and long lasting solution to the capital controversy and hoped that the planned development of Amaravati would transform A.P. into a major economic hub, thereby attracting investments and creating extensive employment opportunities.

Mr. Madhav thanked Mr. Modi for his support and guidance towards the comprehensive development of the State and said the coordination between the Central and the State governments would accelerate the pace of the State’s progress.
