The Rajya Sabha on Wednesday (March 25, 2026) is set to take up the the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Amendment Bill, 2026, for consideration and passing. The bill was passed by the Lok Sabha yesterday by a voice vote amid an Opposition-led walkout.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to introduce the Central Armed Police Forces (General Administration) Bill, 2026, in the Upper House.

In Lok Sabha, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is likely to reply to the discussion on The Finance Bill, 2026. The bill seeks to give effect to the financial proposals of the Central Government for the financial year 2026-2027. The House is also scheduled to take up the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (Amendment) Bill, 2025.

The Business Advisory Committee (BAC) in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday (March 24, 2026) held discussions on ending the ongoing Budget session by March 28 as the Assembly elections in Assam, Kerala and Puducherry are barely two weeks away. Sources claimed the government indicated that the Parliament “may take a break for the polls and reconvene again after the elections are over by the end of April.” The second part of the Budget session, which started on March 9, is scheduled to end on April 2.
