TDP leaders and activists led by the State party president Palla Srinivasa Rao celebrated the approval of the Amaravati legal status Bill in the Parliament, in Gajuwaka on Thursday. Party leaders and cadre cut cakes, burst firecrackers, and raised slogans that resonated across the locality.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Srinivasa described the passage of the Bill as a historic milestone that has fulfilled the aspirations of five crore people of Andhra Pradesh. He said that the development restores the self-respect of the Telugu people. He attributed the achievement to the sacrifices of farmers and the sustained, peaceful struggle of the public.

Asserting that Amaravati’s status is now unassailable, Mr. Srinivasa said it would stand as a definitive identity for the State. He cautioned the public against falling prey to misinformation and urged them to disregard narratives propagated by what he termed as anti-development forces.

He also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for their role in facilitating the Bill’s passage and credited Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and the coalition government’s resolve for making the development possible.
