Minister for Civil Supplies Nadendla Manohar on Tuesday (January 06) said that the paddy procurement had been going on smoothly across the State as the government had made adequate arrangements to buy the paddy from farmers. Along with Collector S. Ramsundar Reddy, Joint Collector Sedhu Madhavan, Nellimarla MLA Lokam Madhavi, he visited various places including Rachakindam, of Bondapalli mandal and Pedatadivada of Denkada mandal of Vizianagaram district.

Speaking to media on the occasion, he said that the government had allocated around ₹14,000 crore for paddy procurement in the State. He said that the government had supplied adequate number of gunny bags and tarpaulins to all districts. The Minister interacted with farmers at Rythu Seva Kendram of Pedatadivada and listened to their grievances. He said that the millers were directed to follow norms set by the government with regard to the procurement.
