A patch of fallow land being converted into cultivable plot in one of the villages in Perambalur district. | Photo Credit: Special Arrangement Several acres of fallow land has been transformed into productive agricultural fields in various villages in Perambalur district with necessary support and assistance provided by the Agriculture Department under the Kalaignarin All Village Integrated Agricultural Development Programme (KAVIADP). The scheme has benefitted 668 farmers in the last five years in the district for whom seeds of rainfed crops have been provided to take up cultivation. The scheme was executed by forming clusters of farmers holding one acre land and less than that as well as for those with higher holding of fallow lands.
