Over 840 job openings are on the offer under ‘HomeComing’ platform of the Silicon Beach Programme (SBP), according to Rohith Bhat, convener, SBP.

He posted on X: “The platform currently features 840+ experienced-level IT roles from 100+ companies across Udupi-Mangaluru region and has already facilitated 16 successful senior hires with organisations such as Niveus Solutions, UniCourtInc, OjasQuest and Sclera.”

The SBP, a section-8 company, is a grouping of like-minded people from diverse fields, who are pooling in their resources to promote economic growth of coastal Karnataka using the technology industry as a growth catalyst.

Mr. Bhat said that the ‘HomeComing’ platform connects experienced IT and technology professionals with impactful career opportunities across coastal Karnataka.

Education hub to technology hub

The SBP seeks to transform the coastal region from an education hub to a technology hub by enhancing local IT resources, talent, and infrastructure to provide world-class services and products with superior technology and talent. This will result in significant cost benefits for companies worldwide, thereby kickstarting a new age of growth for the region, said Mr. Bhat, who is also president of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) Mangaluru chapter.

He further posted on X on February 19: “HomeComing offers a practical pathway to return home, with responsibility, growth and long-term career continuity intact.”

26 and more companies hiring

Mr. Bhat said that as companies expand into the Silicon Beach of India (referring to the coastal region), demand for senior, experienced talent to scale delivery, engineering and leadership teams is accelerating. HomeComing bridges this gap by aligning experienced professionals with credible IT opportunities closer to home.

The SBP post on X read: “Build your career where you belong. Udupi-Mangaluru is now India’s Silicon Beach and HomeComing helps you to find roles where you can lead, grow and thrive.”

The post mentioned the names of 26 companies hiring on HomeComing and said “many more.”

Meanwhile, a joint statement issued by industry leaders in Mangaluru last week said over 40 new IT companies set up operations in coastal region in the last two years, and it added 8,000-plus new IT jobs. Today, the tech ecosystem in coastal region includes over 400 startups, 250-plus technology companies and around 25,000 professionals, reflecting sustained investor trust. In this period, three home-grown tech firms were acquired, totalling around $250 million in investment in the region.

The signatories to the statement included CII, SBP, TiE and others.
