Over 17.59 lakh voters in Erode district

District Election Officer and Collector S. Kandasamy said that the total number of voters across the eight Assembly constituencies in the district stood at 17,59,157 for the April 23 Assembly election.

Addressing the media, he said that of the total electorate, 8,47,197 were men, 9,11,778 were women and 182 were third-gender voters.

The constituency-wise break-up is as follows: Erode (East) – 1,79,566; Erode (West) – 2,50,177; Modakkurichi – 2,07,664; Perundurai – 2,14,431; Bhavani – 2,23,172; Anthiyur – 2,07,355; Gobichettipalayam – 2,39,179; and Bhavanisagar (SC) – 2,37,613. He recalled that the final electoral roll published on February 23, 2026, had 17,40,222 voters. Following the receipt of applications for inclusion, the revised list was finalised on April 6, 2026.

The Collector said that voter information slips, along with a voter guide detailing the polling procedure and the documents required for voting, would be distributed door-to-door by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) from April 10 to 17. He urged voters to visit their respective polling stations and ensure 100% polling.
