A total of 112 persons were injured in the jallikattu organised at Lalgudi in Tiruchi district and at Poolambadi village in Perambalur district on Sunday. The event at Poolambadi left 79 persons injured. In all, 616 bulls were released during the course of the event which lasted over seven hours with 318 contestants participating. Among the injured, four were referred to the Government Hospital, Perambalur, while the remaining 75 were treated as out-patients at the venue. In Lalgudi, 578 bulls were released with 400 contestants taking part. The police said 33 persons were injured. Of them, 13 were referred to the hospital and the remaining 20 were treated as outpatients at the venue.
