Over 100 persons were injured in the jallikattu events organised at T. Udaiyapatti village in Tiruchi district, Arasalur village in Perambalur district, and at Kottaikadu village in Pudukottai district on Sunday. As many as 780 bulls were released during the event at T. Udaiyapatti with 173 tamers taking part. Police sources said 19 persons were injured who were provided treatment at the event venue. A total number of 700 bulls were released during the event at Kottaikadu village in Pudukottai district with the number of participating tamers being 350. Thirty nine persons were injured and of these, 32 were treated as out-patients at the event venue and the remaining seven injured persons were referred to the Pudukottai Government Medical College and Hospital. Sources said 49 persons were injured in the jallikattu at Arasalur in Perambalur district. Of them, three were referred to the Perambalur Government Hospital and the remaining 46 were treated as outpatients at the venue. The number of bulls released were 556 with 304 tamers taking part.
