Of the total 1,82,061 applicants for TGCET 2026, for admissions to Class 5 and Classes 6 to 10 in Telangana Gurukuls, 1,72,842 candidates (95%) took the test on Sunday. The test was conducted in 492 examination centres across the State. The test allows admissions in schools that are under the jurisdiction of societies of Telangana Social Welfare, Tribal Welfare, Residential Institutions, and Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Telangana Backward Classes Welfare Residential Educational Institutions. CET convener S. Krishna Aditya said that the high attendance rate reflects the strong interest of students and parents in seeking admission to Gurukuls.
