Oulgaret municipality launches special drive to collect old, unused materials

The Oulgaret Municipality has launched a special drive to collect old and unused materials that people like to discard during Pongal festival. 

The Municipality has pressed into service one of its vehicles for collection of discarded household materials till January 13. The vehicle would visit residential areas in each of the Assembly constituencies under the Municipality’s limit. The special drive has already commenced with vehicles covering the Oulgaret and Indira Nagar constituencies.

Residents are advised to utilise the special drive to handover old and unused items, such as beds, sofa sets, refrigerators, washing machines, shoe racks and other bulky waste, instead of dumping those in public places. The residential areas in Kathirkamam, Lawspet, Kamaraj Nagar, Thattanchavady and Kalapet constituencies will be covered in the coming days.
