The team emphasised that obesity is a major risk factor for serious health problems such as hypertension, diabetes, stroke, coronary artery disease (CAD), and other non-communicable diseases. The doctors suggested preventive measures like 30-minute brisk walk daily, stress-free lifestyle, avoiding junk food and high-sugar foods, and following a healthy sleep pattern. The Department also promoted the Wellness Clinic at Room no. 222 in Government General Hospital, where preventive and curative services for lifestyle diseases are available. The local people were asked to utilise the services for regular screening, counselling, and management of obesity and related conditions.
