The police have arrested one more person in connection with the mob lynching of Ram Narayan Baghel, 31, a labourer from Chhattisgarh, at Attappallam, near Walayar. The special investigation team (SIT), which is investigating the alleged xenophobic lynching that took place on December 17 afternoon, arrested Rajesh, 39, from East Attappallam. Eight others were already arrested in connection with the incident which had shaken the State. Rajesh, a headload worker at Walayar, was an accused in five criminal cases, said the police. The police said Rajesh was among the group that mercilessly thrashed Ram Narayan accusing him of theft. Crime Branch Dy.SP .M. Gopakumar said a few more persons were absconding.
