A Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) functionary died in an accident in Namakkal on Wednesday (March 4, 2026) and residents staged a road roko here on Thursday (March 5, 2026). The deceased, Kuppusamy (55), a resident of Devanankurichi near Tiruchengode, was a branch secretary at the NTK. On Wednesday around 8 p.m., while he was crossing the Devanankurichi Main Road on his two-wheeler, another two-wheeler collided with his vehicle. In the accident, Kuppusamy and two men who were on the other vehicle, Prakash (26) and Ajay (26), sustained grievous injuries, and Kuppusamy died on the way to the hospital. Prakash was admitted to Namakkal Government Hospital, and Ajay was admitted to a private hospital.
