North Tamil Nadu and some coastal parts of the State may have to brace for searing summer as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast above-normal heatwave days between March and May. While the winter season officially concluded in Tamil Nadu on Saturday after recording a substantial rainfall surplus, the State is likely to experience above-normal maximum temperature during the summer months. Heat wave is declared when the maximum temperature exceeds 40 degrees Celsius in the plains and 30 degrees Celsius in hilly region.
