North Paravur municipality will prepare a detailed project report (DPR) for the Paravoor Heritage Township project in collaboration with the Muziris Heritage Project.

This was announced in the annual Budget presented by municipal vice-chairperson Laiji Biju on Thursday (February 26, 2025).

A DPR will also be prepared to renovate the old private bus stand and shopping complex. There is also a plan to set up a modern bus terminal at Perumpadanna near National Highway 66.

The Budget envisages a revenue of ₹60,0316,471 and an expenditure of ₹56,1281,040.

Considering the importance of NH 66, Perumpadanna and Vazhikulangara Junctions will be renovated, and land will be acquired for the purpose. Modern bus shelters, public toilets, and solar street lights will be set up at key locations across the municipality, according to the Budget proposal. Litter-picking and sweeping machines will also be used.

The Municipal Stadium Ground will be renovated. An open-air auditorium will be constructed at Ambedkar Park. The Budget also proposes modernisation of the Vedimara dumping yard and the setting up of a modern abattoir.

A secondary palliative care centre will be set up at the Government Ayurveda Hospital. A new vehicle for the BUDS school will be provided. Open gyms will be set up at Vedimara, Vrindavan, Ambedkar Park, and Palakulam, according to the Budget.

Yoga clubs will be set up for the elderly in all wards. A senior citizens’ park will be opened in Ward 8. High-mast lamps will be installed at Vazhikulangara Junction and the KSRTC bus station using MLA funds.
