Nora Fatehi | Photo Credit: PTI Actor Norah Fatehi, who featured in the controversial song from the pan-Indian movie KD: The Devil, has opened up about the criticism against the dance number. Directed by Prem and produced by Dhruva Sarja, the movie is bankrolled by KVN Productions of Toxic and Jana Nayagan fame. The Kannada original version of the song, titled ‘Sarse Ninna Seraga Sarse’, was slammed for its “obscene” lyrics by fans and people from film fraternity on social media. Norah Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt feature in the song, written by Prem. In a video released on March 18, 2026 (Wednesday), Norah said that she “doesn’t endorse vulgarity”. She added that she wasn’t aware about the lyrics of the Hindi version. Incidentally, the Hindi dubbed version of the song, titled ‘Sarke Chunari Teri Sarke’, received bigger criticism than the Kannada original. Owing to the servere backlash, the Hindi version was removed from YouTube by the makers. “I shot the song three years ago. I agreed for the project because I was going to share screen with Sanjay Dutt who is a legend. I thought the song was a remake of the iconic number from Khalnayak,” Norah said. The actor added, “The original song was in Kannada, a language I don’t understand. When they explained me about the song I didn’t find anything inappropriate. But again, I am not fluent in the language.” Norah said she alerted director Prem about the impending controversy when she heard the Hindi version during the launch of the song recently. “First of all, I wasn’t happy with the choice of photos they used for the Kannada lyrical version. They were very unlfattering and the makers didn’t take my approval. And when I heard the Hindi version, I warned the director that this could get controversial. I even disassociated myself with the project by not promoting the song.” Norah said she considered the backlash as meaningful feedback. “The criticism will only help me be more cautious going forward in my career.” Published – March 18, 2026 05:06 pm IST Share this: Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window) WhatsApp Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook Click to share on Threads (Opens in new window) Threads Click to share on X (Opens in new window) X Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window) Telegram Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window) LinkedIn Click to share on Pinterest (Opens in new window) Pinterest Click to email a link to a friend (Opens in new window) Email More Click to print (Opens in new window) Print Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window) Reddit Click to share on Tumblr (Opens in new window) Tumblr Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window) Pocket Click to share on Mastodon (Opens in new window) Mastodon Click to share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window) Nextdoor Click to share on Bluesky (Opens in new window) Bluesky Like this:Like Loading...
