Harish Rao stated that students of Govt. Primary School at Jabbarpur in Wargal mandal of Siddipet district had to stage a protest seeking shelter for the school as the owner of the private building in which it is housed had locked the building for non-payment of rent by the government. In a statement, he said on Saturday that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy was keeping the portfolio of Education with him and under his leadership the education department was not even paying the rent of private buildings. He sought to know whether the government had no money to pay the rent when it had spent ₹100 crore on the camp office of the Chief Minister in the name of a VIP guest house and another ₹4.5 crore for the third camp office of the Deputy Chief Minister. When the government was making tall claims of developing Gandhi Sarovar on the Musi River Front with ₹5,000 crore, why it was not allocating funds for quality food to the students of residential schools and paying rents of private buildings. Meanwhile, party MLC Dasoju Sravan demanded a comprehensive inquiry into the purchase of bunker beds for Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidayalayas (KGBVs), alleging that there was a scam of ₹160 crore in the purchase.
