The POCSO Court in Vijayawada on Friday (January 16, 2026) issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against former Member of Parliament K. Gorantla Madhav after he gave the hearing a miss. Acting on a complaint lodged by Mahila Commission former Chairperson Vasireddy Padma, the Cybercrime Police registered a case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, against Mr. Madhav on the charge of revealing the name of the victim in a sexual abuse case before the media. As the accused did not attend the court hearing on Friday, the court issued the non-bailable warrant. The case was adjourned to January 30.
