The nominations of 20 candidates were accepted in the three assembly segments in The Nilgiris. According to the officials, a total of 44 candidates had filed their nominations in Ooty, Gudalur and Coonoor Assembly segments. In Ooty, the nominations of M. Bhojarajan (Bharatiya Janata Party), B. Ramachandran (Indian National Congress), B. Raghupathy (Naam Tamilar Katchi), R. Ibrahim (Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam), R. Savitha (Tamilaga Valvurimai Katchi) and R. Manian (Independent) were accepted. In Gudalur, the nominations of R. Karthik (Naam Tamilar Katchi), M. Thiravidamani (DMK), Pon Jayaseelan (AIADMK), A. Deepak Kishore (Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam), S.K.Raj (Veera Thiyagi Vishwanatha Das Thozhilalar Katchi) and N. Thilagaraj (Independent) were accepted. In Coonoor, the nominations of K. Deenu (Naam Tamilar Katchi), A. Ramu (AIADMK), K.M.Raju (DMK), C. Thangaraj (Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam), T. Aravind, M. Saravanan, S. Dinesh Kumar, D. Vidyasagar (Independent candidates) were accepted. The Election Commission of India (ECI) also released the contact numbers of the Election General Observer – Tanvi Sundriyal (8072843589), Police Observer – Lathamanoj (9080130347) and Expenditure Observer – Gajendra Singh (6381895641). The observers will be available between 10 a.m and 11 a.m at the Tamizhagam State Guest House.
