Amid concerns over fuel availability triggered by the conflict in West Asia, the Federation of Mysore Petroleum Traders on Friday clarified that there is no shortage of petrol or diesel across the region and assured that supply remains stable and uninterrupted. Addressing a press conference, office-bearers of the federation said petroleum products are readily available at all retail outlets, backed by continuous and adequate supply from the Union government, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, and Oil Marketing Companies. “Dealers are working round-the-clock to ensure smooth distribution of fuel to citizens. All necessary steps are being taken to maintain consistent supply,” said the federation president, Shashikala Nagaraj. The federation urged citizens not to indulge in panic-buying or unnecessary stocking of fuel, and also warned against hoarding of petroleum products, noting that it is illegal. Storing fuel in unsafe containers poses serious fire hazards and can endanger lives and property, the federation said in a statement. Reiterating that the situation is fully under control, it appealed to the public to remain calm and extend cooperation. “The supply of petroleum products is normal and continuous. There is absolutely no cause for concern,” Ms. Nagaraj.
