A section of the winners of the recipients of the Distinguished Alumni and Young Achievers awards of NIT, Tiruchi on Tuesday. The Distinguished Alumni Awards and Young Achiever Awards of the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchi (NIT-T), were presented to 16 persons on Tuesday. The awards are given to alumni who have made outstanding contributions in the fields of academia, industry, entrepreneurship, public and social service. This year, 13 persons were selected for the Distinguished Alumni Awards while three persons got the Young Achiever Awards, recognising globally respected researchers and academicians, senior leaders in technology, infrastructure, manufacturing, and finance, founders of innovative ventures, and public administrators whose work contributes to national development and societal progress, according to a NIT-T press release. Speaking on the occasion, Shivkumar Kalyanaraman, CEO, Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), highlighted the critical role of research, innovation, and academia–industry partnerships in shaping our nation’s knowledge economy. Amogh Kumar Gupta, Chairperson of the Board of Governors, NIT-T, underlined the importance of alumni engagement in strengthening institutional excellence. G. Aghila, Director, G. Uma, Dean (Institutional Development and Alumni Relations), Shobitha Poulose, Associate Dean (Alumni Relations), NIT-T, spoke.
