A Nigerian national who had been staying illegally in India for nearly eight years was apprehended by the EAGLE Force and deported to his home country on Saturday (March 14).

The individual was identified as 34-year-old Victory Apuamagan alias Kenny, a native of Delta State in Nigeria. Officials said he had entered India in November 2018 using a Ghana passport bearing the name Yakub Ali. He arrived at the New Delhi International Airport on a medical attendant visa that was valid from November 24, 2018 to January 22, 2019.

After entering India, he travelled to Ludhiana in Punjab where he worked as a gym trainer at a private fitness centre. Officials said he neither returned to Nigeria nor attempted to extend his visa after its expiry.

In September 2025, he shifted to Hyderabad and stayed at a paying guest accommodation in Kondapur after receiving offers for minor roles in films. He has acted in five films, including the recently released Hindi movie Taskari, while a Telugu film titled Varanasi is still under production.

Following a tip off about his presence in Kondapur, EAGLE Force officials apprehended him and coordinated with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office in Hyderabad to secure an exit permit before deporting him on Saturday.
