File | Photo Credit: The Hindu After an application by a woman that her two-month-old daughter was suffering from serious health issues and constructions were being carried out violating a ban in the campus of Centre for Development of Telematics of the Central government, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) has issued notice to the Commission for Air Quality Management in NCR and Adjoining Areas (CAQM) and others, as per an NGT order. In an order dated December 23, the Principal Bench of the NGT comprising Chairperson Prakash Shrivastava and expert member A. Senthil Vel said the plea raised “substantial issues” relating to compliance of environmental norms. “She (Applicant) has further submitted that the Applicant has two-month-old infant daughter who is facing serious health issues and the Applicant is also suffering from allergic bronchitis and is compelled to stay away from his daughter. On account of health complications suffered by the Applicant and the medical expenses incurred on this account, the Applicant has claimed the compensation of Rs. 7,11,000,” the order said. The applicant also said that she had complained about the alleged illegal construction to the Delhi government and the CAQM, but no action was taken by them. “CAQM is directed to consider the complaint of the applicant dated 22.11.2025, carry out the ground verification, ascertain violation and take appropriate remedial and punitive action in accordance with law within a period of 10 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order,” the order said.
