The Hoysala patrol staff have registered a case after the body of a newborn baby boy was found in a garbage heap on Seshadripuram Main road on Tuesday morning.

According to the complaint lodged by Jagadish S., PSI attached to Hoysala-4, the police received a message through the 112 control room around 9.09 am on February 10 regarding a suspected body lying in a garbage dump. The information was relayed based on a call from a person identified as Balakrishna Nayak, GBA Marshal, who informed the authorities about the body.

Acting on the alert, the police conducted a preliminary inspection. They found the body of a baby boy lying in the garbage. The body was reportedly in a decomposed and swollen condition, with the umbilical cord still attached, indicating that the baby had been recently given birth to.

Police suspect that either the parents or unidentified persons may have abandoned the newborn immediately after birth, or disposed of the body to conceal the birth and avoid social or legal consequences.

A case has been registered.
