Special Officer to the Registrar and Dean (Research) Sujata Mallapur was also honoured on the occasion. The felicitation was led by secretary of the Sharanabasaveshwar Vidya Vardak Sangha Basavaraj Deshmukh along with senior university officials. Congratulating the newly appointed officers, Mr. Deshmukh said that their elevation was the result of years of dedication, perseverance and academic commitment. He recalled the vision of the late eighth Mahadasoha Peetadhipati of the Sharanabasaveshwar Samasthan Sharanabaswappa Appaji who envisioned the establishment of the university nearly two decades ago and laid a strong foundation for its academic growth. Calling upon the faculty and staff to extend full cooperation to the university administration, Mr. Deshmukh said that collective effort is essential to realise Appaji’s dream of transforming Sharnbasva University into a world-class institution. He also urged teachers to encourage students to develop entrepreneurial skills and align their knowledge with emerging trends such as start-ups, rather than depending solely on conventional employment opportunities. In her address, Ms. Maka expressed gratitude and recalled her academic journey under the guidance of Appaji. She said that although she initially aspired to become a medical doctor, it was Appaji’s counsel that led her to pursue engineering, shaping her professional path. She traced her growth from serving as a lecturer, to becoming principal of Godutai Engineering College for Women and eventually being appointed Registrar by the Chancellor of the university Dakshayini Avvaji. Vice-Chancellor Anilkumar Bidve described Ms. Maka as an accomplished academician whose rise within the institution reflects the university’s merit-based culture. Director V.D. Mytri, who guided her doctoral research, noted that she successfully cleared her Ph.D coursework in her first attempt, a rare academic distinction. Registrar (Evaluation) S.H. Honnalli, Finance Officer Kiran Maka and other senior faculty members were present at the event.
