The Yogoda Satsang Society (YSS) opened a new meditation centre at Nalanda Nagar in Tirupati on Saturday. The centre was inaugurated by YSS vice-president Swami Smaranananda. On the occasion, he said that a ‘guru’ dispels the darkness of ignorance and is also the silent voice of god. He emphasised that the spiritual practice (sadhana) means cultivating qualities like compassion, forgiveness, and service. Swami Smaranananda praised the efforts of the devotees and donors who contributed to the construction of the meditation centre. He encouraged the devotees to make use of the centre for ‘satsang’ and meditation. The three-day event included training on Yogoda meditation techniques, group meditation, spiritual talks, and Kriya Yoga initiation.
