New initiative in knee surgery restores mobility for patients

A 50-year-old woman walked confidently after undergoing a complex knee replacement surgery at Shri Ramchandra Joint Replacement Center in Guntur, marking a major success for advanced orthopaedic care.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday (March 24, 2026), orthopaedic surgeon Dr Sivaiah Potla said that procedure ATTUNE Medial Stabilised Knee System was used to enable a “stable and natural knee feel” even in obese and complex cases. “It is not just surgery, it is like giving patients a brand-new custom-designed knee,” he said.

The patient, once struggling with basic movement, is now able to walk, climb stairs, and sit comfortably. Dr. Potla said that the technology restores natural motion and confidence.
