New DMO assumes charge – The Hindu

Dr. R. Shahirshah, Additional Director, Health department, has taken charge as the Ernakulam District Medical Officer (DMO). He was serving as Superintendent of Ernakulam General Hospital (GH).

It was during his tenure that state-of-the-art treatment facilities were established at the GH. It was also during the period that the hospital became the first district-level hospital in India to perform a heart transplant surgery, said a communication.
