The new building to house the Srirangam fire station. | Photo Credit: Special Arrangement A new building of the Fire and Rescue Services station at Srirangam was declared open by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin through video conference from Chennai on Friday. The two-storeyed building has been built on an area measuring 10,820 sq. ft. at a cost of ₹4.81 crore with provision of three bays, Station Fire Officer room, waiting halls, store room, driver mechanic room, and conference hall among others. The new building was constructed by Tamil Nadu Police Housing Corporation Ltd., Tiruchi Division. Mr. Stalin inaugurated a new integrated commercial tax office building constructed at a cost of ₹26.41 crore in Cantonment area here. The multistoreyed building has been constructed on an area measuring a little over 1.17 lakh sq. ft., an official release said.
