NDA leaders from undivided Visakhapatnam district welcomed the Lok Sabha’s approval for making Amaravati the permanent capital of Andhra Pradesh. They also slammed former Chief Minister and YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for his ‘Mavigun’ proposal. A.P. TDP president Palla Srinivasa Rao said that the approval of the bill conferring statutory legitimacy on Amaravati by the Lok Sabha marks a decisive moment in fulfilling the long-cherished aspirations of five crore people of Andhra Pradesh. He described the development as a historic affirmation of the self-respect and identity of the people of the State on a national stage.
