Palaeontologist Ashok Sahni spoke on ‘The Skeletons in Nature’s Cupboard: A Biomechanical Approach to Creativity’ at the National Centre for Earth Science Studies (NCESS) here on Thursday. Dr. Sahni, currently Emeritus Professor, Panjab University, Chandigarh, delivered the lecture in connection with the 13th foundation day of NCESS. On the occasion, N.V. Chalapathi Rao, Director, NCESS, highlighted the institute’s scientific achievements during 2025 and its contributions to strengthening the national research ecosystem. NCESS was established as a national institute on January 1, 2014. It evolved from the Centre for Earth Science Studies (CESS) under the Kerala government.
