Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Sohum Shah | Photo Credit: Sohum Shah/Instagram Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has joined Sohum Shah’s Tumbbad 2, the latter announced through a social media post on Monday, March 2, 2026. The film is a sequel to the critically acclaimed 2018 period-horror drama which was helmed by Rahi Anil Barve and Anand Gandhi and produced by Sohum. Sohum shared a photo with Nawazuddin to make the announcement and wrote in caption, “We are pleased to announce that one of the finest actors of our time, @nawazuddin._siddiqui has joined #Tumbbad2.” Tumbbad 2 was officially announced by Sohum in September 2024. The film will not be directed by Rahi, who is working on a trilogy of films, comprising Tumbbad, Pahadpangira and Pakshitirtha. Tumbbad 2 will be helmed by Aadesh Prasad, who served as the co-director, co-writer and co-producer on the original. The film will be jointly produced by Sohum Shah Films and Pen Studios. Meanwhile, Nawazuddin was recently seen in Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders, which was released on Netflix last year. Sohum’s last film was the psychological thriller Crazxy, which released on Prime Video in 2025.
