The Department of Basic and Applied Sciences of GM University celebrated National Science Day at the GM Hallamma Auditorium in Davanagere on Friday, with the theme “Women in Science: Catalysing Viksit Bharat”. Raghuraj J., scientist from Taralabalu Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Davangere, attended the programme as the chief guest. Presiding over the event, Vice-Chancellor S.R. Shankapal emphasised the importance of nurturing scientific research, innovation, and scientific temperament among students. Dean of the Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences Santosh B.M. spoke on the occasion. As part of the celebration, competitions titled “Frames of Knowledge” and “Science Through the Lens” were organised to encourage creativity and scientific expression among students and winners were honoured.
