Photo Credit: X/@CMOMaharashtra via ANI | Photo Credit: As the campaigning for municipal corporation elections has reached its final stage, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday (January 13, 2026) appealed to citizens of Maharashtra to cast their votes based on the Mahayuti party symbol ‘lotus’ (BJP) or ‘bow and arrow’ (Shiv Sena) rather than the candidate during the bike rally in Nagpur. BJP and Shiv Sena finalise 143-8 formula for Nagpur civic polls, NCP to go solo In the last leg of canvassing for Mahayuti candidates who will be contesting in 29 municipal corporations, Mr. Fadnavis said, “Seeing the response of people, I am now confident that we will break our own record in Nagpur, while hoisting the saffron flag in Mumbai and other municipal corporations in the State.” Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis participated in a road show that passed through central and eastern Nagpur. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari is also set to visit central and northern Nagpur later in the day. According to the Nagpur Municipal Corporation, 993 candidates will contest for 151 corporator posts in 38 wards of the Nagpur civic body. Nagpur, which has been a stronghold of the BJP, has witnessed humongous campaigning in the last 10 days with the BJP, Congress, BSP, Shiv Sena, Uddhav Thackeray, NCP, AAP, MNS and independent candidates making attempts to influence voters.
