Continuing its crackdown on illegal sale and transportation of narcotic substances, the city police have arrested three persons and seized more than 40 grams of MDMA worth ₹4 lakh.

A statement here said the Mandi Police arrested Mohammed Kareem and Nishad Pasha and seized 3.14 grams of MDMA from them. A case was registered under Section 22 (b) of NDPS Act and the accused were remanded to judicial custody.

Further investigation led to the arrest of Mohammed Roshan, aged 22, a car spray-painting worker residing in Ghousia Nagar in the City, who had absconded after supplying MDMA to Mr. Nishad Pasha.

Police said 41.31 grams of MDMA valued at approximately ₹4 lakh was seized from him. He was produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.

It was found that Mr. Mohammed Roshan already has a case registered against him at Udayagiri Police Station under NDPS Act. 

Further investigations revealed that he procured MDMA from an unknown person in Bengaluru through social media and later sold it in Mysuru. Police said a watch has been mounted on his distribution network and further action will follow.

City police continue their operations against those involved in sale, transportation, and consumption of narcotic substances in Mysuru, and strict action is being taken, the police statement said.
