The Mysuru City police said it has detected 105 cases of theft over the last couple of months and recovered stolen property worth ₹2.96 crore.

Sharing these details at a property parade in Mysuru on Wednesday, City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar said the recovered items include 2.54 kg of gold jewellery, 5.31 kgs of silver articles, 57 vehicles, ₹10.03 in cash and other valuables.

The detected cases include robbery, extortion, chain snatching, burglary, house thefts, vehicle thefts and general thefts, besides one case under Karnataka Forest Act.

Out of the 57 stolen vehicles that were recovered, 49 are two-wheelers. While three were cars, two lorries, one jeep, one goods vehicle and an autorickshaw that had been stolen were also recovered. 33 pieces of sandalwood had also been seized, the police said.

82 arrested

A total of 82 accused persons have been arrested in connection with these cases, Ms. Latkar said.

The cases that were detected by the police had been registered in various police stations across the City including Saraswathipuram, Kuvempunagar, Lashkar, Vidyaranyapuram, Metagalli, Vijaynagar, Mandi and Narasimharaja, besides CCB police.

NDPS Act cases

In 2026, a total of 22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) cases had been registered with the seizure of significant quantities of narcotic substances.

Additionally, a total of 102 consumption-related cases too had been registered by the City police during 2026, he said.

While the Udayagiri police arrested one Varun in Rajiv Nagar second stage and seized 24 kg and 485 grams of ganja from him, externment orders had been issued against 16 NDPS Act act during 2025-26 with a view to controlling the sale, transport and storage of narcotics.
