A Mangaluru court on Thursday sentenced one M. Murugan to life on finding him guilty of murdering 47-year-old Harish Saliyan in Mulky market in March 2022. The Second Additional District and Sessions Judge, V.N. Jagadeesh, sentenced Murugan to Imprisonment for Life and asked him to pay a penalty of ₹10,000 for the offence punishable under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code. In default of paying the penalty, he shall undergo simple imprisonment for a period of one year.
