The Goondas Act was invoked against a man arrested on the charges of murder near Sultanpet in Coimbatore district in March. The detainee was identified as S. Murugan (4) alias Sathish of Vadambacheri near Sulur. The police arrested him, along with four others, for allegedly murdering M. Sathishkumar (40) of Kumarapalayam on March 3 and dumping his body into PAP canal.
