Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni) on Friday (January 2) expressed confidence that long-pending national highway-related issues in the united Krishna district would be resolved soon. A high-level review meeting in this regard was held at his office, which was attended by MP Vallabhaneni Balashouri; Minister for Mines Kollu Ravindra; MLAs Gadde Ramamohan, Bode Prasad, Mandali Buddha Prasad, Venigandla Ramu and Kagitha Krishna Prasad; and RTC chairperson Konakalla Narayana. Officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), including project directors, also participated. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the progress of National Highway works, pending land acquisition and various difficulties being faced by the public due to delays in execution. The public representatives highlighted local issues, including compensation concerns, service road construction and traffic disruptions caused by incomplete works. Addressing the officials, Mr. Sivanath stressed the need for coordination among departments to expedite project execution and ensure minimal inconvenience to residents. He instructed the highway authorities to address bottlenecks and maintain regular communication with district administrations and elected representatives. “The problems related to National Highways in the united Krishna district will be resolved at the earliest. Necessary steps are being taken to clear pending land acquisition issues and speed up construction works,” the MP said. Officials assured the MPs and MLAs that corrective measures would be implemented and timelines reviewed to ensure faster completion of projects. They also noted that efforts are under way to resolve compensation disputes and improve safety measures along the highway stretches. The meeting concluded with a consensus on conducting periodic reviews to monitor progress and ensure that infrastructure development aligns with public needs and expectations.
